Crime Victim Assistance Entities Discuss Collaboration Opportunities

Given diminishing federal support, seven national organizations providing assistance to victims of crime—National Crime Victim Law Institute, National Association of VOCA Administrators, National Center for Victims of Crime, National Organization for Victim Assistance, National Sexual Violence Resource Center, Maryland Crime Victims Resource Center, and Victim Services 2000—convened to discuss ways the organizations can collaborate more effectively to better serve the victims of crimes. The Lodestar Foundation supported the retention of a consultant to facilitate the convening. At the convening, the organizations identified several areas in which they could collaborate to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, including conference coordination, communications, and policy advocacy.
